“Project Snow Chairs” will be hosted by the Rogers Park / West Ridge Historical Society on Saturday morning (2/11) at 10:30. I will be presenting my historical/cultural study of the dibs system from last winter followed by Q & A / general discussion. For more information check out: http://www.rpwrhs.org/. The RPWR Historical Society is located the intersection of Morse and Greenview (1447 W. Morse) just 1 block West of the Morse Redline stop.
Come on out, it should be a good time, even if there is no snow on the ground or chairs in the street.
The Chicago Dibs Tumblr is sad to have missed this. Hope the event was a success!
In honor of the anniversary of the Feb Blizzard of ‘11, Chicago Dibs reblogs one of its favorites.

Hipstamatic Dibs!
I know it’s not Chicago, or snowy for that matter, but I’ve been following this blog for as long as it’s been around and I had never seen anything like it in New York… until five minutes ago.

Temporary Services - Public Phenomena: Even though snow has been very light in Chicago so far this Winter, that hasn’t prevented people from claiming parking spaces. Here is a combination of a broken child’s chair and a child sized mini pallet. Documentation of other urban interventions can be found in our Public Phenomena books from 2008 and 2005.
